My name is Naomi Breuer and I am a freshman at Stanford University looking to study International Relations. I live in Washington D.C. and am from Germany and Myanmar.

I am currently a Contributing Writer for the Campus Life Desk in the News section of The Stanford Daily. I also am a Desk Editor for The Stanford Daily's Winter Journalism Workshop for high school students.

In my senior year of high school, I was the Editor-In-Chief of International Dateline, the student-run newspaper of Washington International School. As a junior, I was Publications Editor and Middle School News Advisor. In my sophomore year, I was the WIS News, aka School News, editor. In ninth grade I was the only freshman on the editorial staff as the Arts editor.

In my junior year, I wrote an investigative piece uncovering my school's lack of Holocaust education, which led to major reforms in the school's curriculum and approach to curricular changes.

In 2024, I was named the Journalism Education Association's D.C. Journalist of the Year. I am also a Free Spirit Scholar, as I was the 2023 Al Neuharth Free Spirit and Journalism Conference D.C. representative.
In 2022, I took part in a two-week program at the School of the New York Times called "Writing in the Big City," where I learned and practiced interviewing people on the street, conducting press conferences and writing food reviews.

I am a photographer, and have enjoyed improving my photography and photojournalism skills. In 2022, I received second place in a photojournalism competition at the School of the New York Times.
